I and my partner Veronika arrived in Liberland at the end of August 2023. We tried to stay in Liberland but some unfortunate circumstances prevented us from settling down. All Liberland settlers shared a need at that time: having a place, which would support their efforts in infrastructure-less Liberland. A place:
- to store building materials and equipment,
- to store supplies,
- with workshop and tools,
- where new settlers and other visitors could be received,
- where cars could be safely parked,
- where settlers could go and rest,
- with an address to receive packages,
- …and so on.
So we decided to look for a suitable property as close to Liberland as possible, purchased one, and offered its premises to all Liberlanders unconditionally.
Liberbase became a community of settlers and their friends. Its current goals are:
- to practically support the settlement efforts (as mentioned above),
- to help and incubate the Liberland economy,
- to attract less adventurous individuals to come, stay and get involved,
- and to deepen the entanglement between the communities of the locals and Liberlanders through mutual collaboration and socializing events.
The Liberland movement seems to be growing in numbers and Liberbase continues to support the cause despite all challenges.
